How to Fundraise During the Holidays: End of Q4
By: Jackie Bateman, Senior Digital Strategist
End-of-year fundraising can be extremely difficult for campaigns. Everyone is tapped out from the holidays and tuned out as they spend time with their families. Even so, your campaign is up against a major fundraising deadline. So, how do you break through effectively?
Here are a few tips to get you past the holiday fundraising slump:
1. Petition throughout the month. Take advantage of hot topics to keep your list engaged. You will be able to raise some of the money you need through the month if you use an upsell fundraising page after people sign the petition.
2. End-of-quarter fundraising push. Even with a shorter time frame, you can still get the traditional four to six fundraising emails out if you plan it right. Thinking ahead is key to getting results.
3. Make your asks creative. The more creative you can be with your copy and the type of asks you make the more successful you’re going to be. Additionally, taking advantage of hot current events to drive your fundraising can help make up some of your budget.
4. Use surrogates. Getting high-profile surrogates to sign an email for you will help augment your returns. Planning ahead and getting the asks in early is critical to your success.
